Hello lovely,

today i'll keep it super sweet and short because it is my birthday (23! oh my, i'm getting old now...), and i want to enjoy the day with my family and friends instead of spending ages in front of the pc. Which is why i decided to only post a light content of photographic birthday brunch impressions:

Day Zero Project: update 11

You don’t have to get a job that makes others feel comfortable about what they perceive as your success. You don’t have to explain what you plan to do with your life. You don’t have to justify your education by demonstrating its financial rewards. You don’t have to maintain an impeccable credit score. Anyone who expects you to do any of those things has no sense of history or economics or science or the arts. You have to pay your electric bill. You have to be kind. You have to give it all you got. You have to find people who love you truly and love them back with the same truth. But that’s all. ~ Cheryl Strayed

Travel Diary | Weinheim & Wedding

reading time: ca. 2 min

I spent last weekend in the deep dark south of Germany: Weinheim, where my uncle and godfather got married. The city of Weinheim (translating to "Wine Home"), also known as Zwei-Burgen-Stadt ("Two-Castle city") is located in one of the most southerly provinces of Germany, named after the two fortresses on the hill overlooking the town lying in the valley. Similar to Lüneburg (travel diary of that over here), it has a picturesque old town that somehow also reminded me of certain villages and small towns in Italy with its narrow alleys and its exterior walls decorated with stucco.

The most beautiful thing about Weinheim (besides it being a city of weddings, apparently, because besides my uncle's wedding there were at least 5 other weddings that day, and several more over the weekend...) is its location nearby the forest. It is practically surrounded by woods and hiking tracks.

Vegan, non-dairy Chocolate Orange Truffles with 3 ingredients

[This will seriously take you only minutes to make!]

This was created when i was walking into the kitchen last week, hungry but too lazy to make some proper lunch, and craving something sweet.
A few minutes later i was sitting on the couch & snacking on my improvised chocolate truffles. Yum-yum!

Maisy ❤ August 2014

reading time: ca. 3 min

Hello there -
if you love books and movies, you've come to the right place. If not, well... sorry 'bout it.

The next big book on my TBR stack was The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton (560 pages), which was an homage to Hodgson Burnett's The Secret Garden and childhood tales in general, surpassed only by The Book Thief by Markus Zusak (576 pages). Why haven't i read this before? Because i was saving it "until last", and by last i mean my summer holidays. So i would be able to fully appreciate the beauty of this book.

Read: The Book Thief (Markus Zusak, 2005)

Oh my god, i have waited so long to read this book. And now i've done it, and it has immediately become one of my dearest books of all time (along with the Lord of the Rings, The Thief Lord, The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter, Snow Falling On Cedars and The House at Riverton a.k.a. The Shifting Fog)
