Breakfast in a Bottle (overnight oatmeal)

makes: 2 cups
suitable for: vegan, lactose-free, gluten-free, nut-free, raw food, and delicious "even so"


White layer:
1 cup oats, soaked overnight in water *
2 small ripe bananas

Pink layer:
1/2 cup berries
1 small ripe banana
sweetener of choice (i use 1 tbsp agave syrup)

1 small ripe banana, sliced
1 large apple, chopped

* Note: the oats themselves are not raw, however the method is raw since i am not cooking them! Feel free to sub for buckwheat to make this oatmeal recipe fully raw!


White layer: Blend your overnight oats with the bananas and pour it into a jar or bowl. It should be a fairly thick mass (adjust thickness to your liking by adding more or less water).

Make an in-between layer by adding your chopped apple and a pinch of cinnamon, banana slices and/or berries on top of the oat layer!

Pink layer: Blend your berries (i'm using raspberries and strawberries), a splash of water and half a large banana or 1 small one into berry banana "mylk". Add sweetener to your liking. Then pour over your oatmeal and garnish with berries and/or fruit slices!
